Our Eco Initiatives

Mission Playgrounds devotion to protecting the playground informs every action that we take and every decision that we make. Here are some of our eco-initiatives:
• 1% For The Planet Member:
Mission Playground is a member of 1% For the Planet. This is an alliance of businesses that donate at least 1% of their annual revenues to environmental organizations worldwide. Please shoot us an email and let us know if there is a specific organization or cause that you would like us to support. One Percent For the Planet

• Our Choice of Materials:

Mission Playground remains committed to providing products that are manufactured in the most environmentally friendly ways possible. We continue to support and use organic cotton and recycled polyester as well as other eco-friendly textiles. We also use water based, non-PVC ink for all decoration.

• GOTS Certification:

Starting with our Spring 2010 collection we are proud to announce that our most popular and highest volume products are now Certified Organic to Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) by Oregon Tilth.. This includes all of our Men’s and Women’s Crew Neck tees, our Zip and Pullover Hoodies and our bags.

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is among the most comprehensive international standards for the handling and manufacturing of Organic textiles. It ensures that the “organic status of textiles, from harvesting of the raw materials, through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing up to labelling”.

• Tips for Protecting the Playground:

Every Mission Playground product includes a sewn-in suggestion of a small yet impactful action that we can all take to live in a manner more friendly to Mother Earth.

• Mission Playground Earth Advocates:

This year we launched our Mission Playground Earth Advocate program. Through this program we support and sponsor local environmental activists and advocates who are out there making a difference.
